The Enchanted Canyon eBook Honoré Morrow Reviews
I loved this book! It was like a breath of fresh air from other books and story lines. You have to read it to know what I mean.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I did enjoy it.well worth the read.
I wish this story would've lasted into the final explanation of Enochs history. I think it would satisfy my yearning to know more. The characters were well put together and added a lot to Enouch and Dianas quest for love.
This story, as I note in the headline, is so rare as to unfortunately only to be found in fiction. The most powerful part to me though is the writing about the Canyon; it’s terrible and wonderful power over the body, soul, and spirit of a man. Clearly only someone who has experienced it could have written so accurate and resonating an account of it.
Liked it a lot. I could picture the canyon as they did. The grandeur of it. The river in a boat like that must have been a grand adventure!
This is a book that my mother had as a child, and that I have read several times over the years. Because it is set in a past time, it is rather "old fashioned" feeling, but has some unusual plot twists. Note - I have not read it for many years - so this is based on memory of at least 20 years ago! I did want to read it again, so was happy to find it in edition.
Nucky grew up never knowing true love from a mother or father. This haunted and hindered his life decisions because he just did not understand distinguishing the difference in underserved guilt and freedom from his past. Love that he felt he did not deserve came slowly from a chance meeting of a six year girl who later in life would greatly impact his self imposed guilt.
Man against man, man against nature, man against himself, romance, high ideals. In spite of its age, it is still timely and fits today surprisingly well. Also gives an intriguing look into the mindset of the early progressive movement In government, the idealism of the worth of public service and the wonderful things it was doing and could so for the country.
