Aidan and Sarah Cooper have no idea what they're getting into one afternoon when they discover a mysterious coded document in a secret compartment of an antique English desk their father recently bought at an auction. Something about the document seems familiar to Sarah, and that night she realizes what it is the document seems to be referring to some books she has read - the Starcatchers series, about the origin of Peter Pan. But how could that be? The document seems far older than the books. And of course, the books are just stories....
Curious, Sarah and Aidan begin to decipher the mysterious document. At first it's a game - unraveling the mystery piece by piece, each piece leading them to a new, deeper puzzle. But soon the game turns strange - and scary. They discover that the "stories" are real, and that what they thought was a fictional battle between good and evil is still going on. And the scariest part is They have become part of it.
Pursued by a being that can take any form and will stop at nothing to get what it wants from them, Aidan and Sarah embark on a desperate, thrilling quest for help - a quest that leads them to some unforgettable people in some unlikely places, including one that's not supposed to exist at all. At each step they must solve new puzzles and escape new dangers, all the while knowing that if they fail, the evil they are fleeing will be let loose on an unsuspecting world.

First let me say that my son (age 7) and I have been nearly obsessed with the Starcatcher series since his first grade teacher last year introduced his class to the first book. We read that together, then each book in turn - we have read a chapter or more most nights for months! We capped off our experience in June by going to New York to see Peter and the Starcatcher - which was also a great experience. So, this review is written by someone who is truly a fan of the series. This book IS different from the other books in the series. The main difference, of course, is the setting - modern day United States and Great Britain as opposed to Victorian London and a sea filled with sailing ships. The characters you know and love are not present at first, instead we are introduced to a couple teen agers who are the main characters. The story is linear - there is not as much "switching of scenes" as there is in other books in the series.
The story is interesting and does progress along lines which, though predictable, are entertaining enough. Of course, the whole series requires a huge suspension of disbelief - but it is a bit more jarring, however, to suspend disbelief in the modern world setting of this book compared to earlier books in the series. The ending of the book does make it quite clear that when written they expected it to kick off perhaps even a new series - and I hope that is the case!
Overall, a good read well worth the time especially for fans of the series.

The Bridge to Never Land (Audible Audio Edition) Dave Barry MacLeod Andrews Ridley Pearson Brilliance Audio Books Reviews
My son read all of the Starcatcher series in rapid fire mode. He devoured this book just as fast. When I asked him why he liked these books, he shrugged and said, "they are great adventure books and lots of cool stuff happens". Guess you'll have to take his word for it.
Yes, I'm 40 something and I love this series of books!
Very satisfied!
I really enjoyed the earlier books so I was looking forward to reading this one. But try as I might, I never was able to connect. The first half especially was difficult at times for me to get through. I found the main characters often annoying, like I was listening to my kids argue just for the sake of it. Things picked up a bit for me in the second half though, unlike the earlier books, I didn't have that touch of sadness at having finished a story I was really into. I won't be seeking out the Jim Dale audio version to listen to on a long driving trip.
Another thing that I found distracting was the high profile presence of Google, Apple and especially Disney in the story. In the book's forward there's mention of behind-the-scenes tours and I'm sure the authors were treated very nicely in appreciation. Disney couldn't have asked for better treatment had they wrote the book themselves.
This was a really good book and it really just sucked you in! It felt like you where right there with them and I would recommend it to all who love long books that you
will want to keep reading. I would also recommend it to fantasy lovers who's lives revolve around the real world. You should also check their other books that are in the Peter and the star catchers series if you haven't read those yet because those are great if not better! I really hope you enjoyed the book and PLEASE keep reading )
Peter and the Starcatchers is a terrific fantasy story for readers ages 9-13. The writing is fast paced, full of cliffhangers, and complex enough to keep the attention of more sophisticated readers. This would make an excellent "bedtime" series for families to enjoy together, and the story is absolutely appropriate for kids of younger ages with support from parents.
What I liked about The Bridge to Never Land
A trip to London
The kids runaway from home
Mystery
A road trip
Independence
A fairy tale comes to life
Peter Pan
Great audio
They go to Starbucks
They have use an iPad
They eat junk food while on the run.
Audio book is the only way to experience this book. The narrator does a wonderful job.
I like how the relationship of the brother and sister is dynamic. It is a fast moving book. There is action.
What I didn't like is that the authors left the option open for another book. It does not look like they will add to the series.
I want to listen to this book again.
I recommend this book to anyone interested in a story that brings fairy tales and modern day together into a well written mystery book.
